FUSION Theatre Company is a 501(c)3
non-profit arts organization. Contributions to FUSION
are tax deductible to the fullest extent permissible
by a contributor's tax status. As is the case with
all performance groups, especially those that pay
their artists, FUSION takes in less than half of
its
annual operating budget from ticket sales. Were FUSION
to base it's entire budget on tickets, those would
run over $60 per seat.
To keep ticket costs reasonable, we regularly seek
additional contributions from foundations, government,
businesses and individuals who understand and appreciate
the incalculable value to the community provided
by
a vibrant and first-rate arts organization. Even
in these difficult times for the arts, FUSION has
been
the honored recipient of major grants from The
City of Albuquerque, Martin Chavez, Mayor,
Albuquerque's
Urban Enhancement Trust Fund, the
Shubert Foundation, the Scott
Family Foundation and several other significant
sources. At this point, we're still more dependent
than we'd like to be on several major individual
contributors. We invite any and all inquiries about
ways to support
FUSION.

Several aspects of FUSION's mission and management
make it, we believe, an appealing investment....
-
FUSION fills a unique and
extremely valuable niche in the New Mexico
arts scene. Not only is FUSION the sole remaining
professional theatre company in the state, we have
a special focus on producing only the great works,
old and new, from around the world. Whether comedy
or tragedy or a blend of the two, FUSION audiences
can expect our productions to be of the highest
merit.
-
FUSION is completely committed to
the revitalization of downtown Albuquerque and seeks
to be a major contributor to a high quality
of life for our community. We understand
the value of being named the highest creativity
indexed, mid-sized city in America, and we appreciate
what it takes to keep Albuquerque at the top of
the list.
-
FUSION is run by experienced
and successful business men and women.
We are growth minded, but we also know how to do
this intelligently, minimizing the risk of too rapid
growth, which has led to the demise of a number
of performance organizations in New Mexico and across
the country. We are here for the long haul!
- FUSION is extremely lean. We pay
no administrative salaries; all funds go to the productions
in the form of artists' compensation (including benefits
for Equity members), set construction, building overhead
and promotion. (Along with other major performance
groups such as the NMSO and Chamber Music Albuquerque,
we believe that a successful arts organization does
require some compensated administrative leadership
and support; we are working toward that goal.)
- FUSION is committed to providing professional
acting opportunities to local actors, and
to introducing great professional talent from other
regional centers to New Mexicans. We provide an important
venue for local talent, and we understand the value,
both to our patrons and to the standing of New Mexico
in the eyes of others, of including the best available
talent from beyond our borders.
There is no question that producing professional theatre
in New Mexico is a great challenge! However, we at FUSION
Theatre Company are reminded daily, in our own observations,
and through the feedback of others, that there is a
deep desire and need for the mission
we fulfill. We welcome and value your support of that
mission.

Though fully professional in its artistic representation,
FUSION Theatre Company depends on generous and
talented volunteers to make its operation run
smoothly. Volunteers have been instrumental in such
vital roles as:
- front-of-house (box office, phones, concessions)
- publicity and promotion
- production support (props, some scene work, artist
assistance)
What do volunteers get in return? Aside
from seeing great shows for free, like most volunteers,
they identify a need and they get their own gratification
from filling it well.
Would you like to be a FUSION volunteer?
We welcome your proposition! Please write
or call and tell us a little about yourself, your
expertise and your availability!
